Executive Director
Martha Carucci
Martha Carucci is the Executive Director of the Breast Cancer Collective (formerly the National Breast Center Foundation). Since joining the organization in 2015, she has led its growth from a grassroots effort into a regional community health nonprofit that expands access to breast cancer screening, diagnostic testing, and support services across the DMV. Martha played a key role in securing the organization’s 501c3 status and created several of its signature events, including the Walk to Bust Cancer, the Swing to Bust Cancer golf and tennis tournaments, and the Angel Wing Challenge.
Operations
Lore Burek
Lore Burek is a systems thinker, problem solver, and community advocate who serves as Operations Manager at the Breast Cancer Collective. After more than two decades helping organizations solve complex technical and operational challenges, Lore now applies her expertise to a mission that matters deeply: ensuring that every patient has access to timely, equitable breast health services across the region.

Our board represents a cross-section of our community and has a passion for our organization and those we serve. The members work hard to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization and oversee that the funds raised directly affect those in need.

Founder & President
David Weintritt, MD, FACS
David C. Weintritt, MD, FACS, is the founder of the Breast Cancer Collective (formerly the National Breast Center Foundation). He established the organization to expand access to breast cancer screening, diagnostic testing, and navigation services for underserved patients across the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. His work focuses on removing financial, informational, and logistical barriers so people can receive timely answers and the care they need.

Chairman of the Board
Gwen Seibert
Gwen is a Senior Vice President with the National Association of Community Health Centers, Inc. (NACHC). She has been with NAHCA for 28 years, and has significantly decreased the cost of goods in health centers nationally, allowing those funds to be redistributed to patient care. She is also the Chief Operating Officer of Community Health Ventures.

Treasurer
Cindy Stevens
Cindy is a Retired Partner with Deloitte, LLP. During her tenure, she was the partner in charge of Government Relations and responsible for State and Federal Government Affairs. She is a past member of The Alexandria Historical Restoration and Preservation Commission.

Secretary
Dorn Sanders
Dorn Sanders Pollard is a native of Old Town Alexandria, a member of Alfred Steet Baptist Church. She is a breast cancer survivor who has used her business development acumen to build alliances between organizations that serve the underserved. She has served as a Board member since 2019.

Director
Ashley Chamberlain
Ashley Chamberlain has admired the vision and the work of the Breast Cancer Collective since its creation in 2014. With many friends and relatives affected by breast cancer and other debilitating medical conditions, Ashley became involved with the Collective to help bring patients together with more effective healthcare solutions through patient advocacy, improved access and diagnosis, better technology, and research for a cure. Her hope is that breast cancer will be a completely curable disease in her lifetime.

Vice Chair
Kara Gorski
Passionate about advocating for women in her community, Kara has proudly served on the board of the Breast Cancer Collective for nearly a decade. An economist and CFO of Landed, LLC, as well as a women’s fiction novelist, Kara is also a breast cancer survivor who understands the challenges of navigating treatment. She is deeply committed to advancing the Collective's mission of expanding access to lifesaving breast health services for all women.

Director
Trey Hardin
Advocacy has been a central theme throughout Trey Hardin’s thirty-year career. He has held senior positions in government and politics, lobbied on behalf of a variety of organizations and interests, and executed public relations campaigns for a number of different brands and issues. Trey currently runs his own communications consulting firm, War Room Strategies, and owns an Office Evolution franchise in Arlington-Rosslyn, Virginia. Office Evolution is the largest franchise-owned coworking company in the nation.

Lisa Cartwright is an Engineer for the federal government, ensuring the safety of the nation's computer systems.
