The Collective Care Program
The Collective Care Program helps people in the DMV and our partner communities access breast cancer screening and diagnostic testing when cost or logistics create barriers. We connect uninsured and under-insured neighbors with trusted partners for mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, MRIs, and follow-up imaging. Our team provides navigation and support at every step so no one has to move through this process alone.
How the Collective Care Program Helps
Why This Matters
Breast cancer outcomes in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region continue to reflect gaps in access, cost, and timely follow-up care. Too many people delay screening because of financial or logistical barriers, and many do not know where to turn when a test shows something concerning. In 2024, we saw firsthand how often a single appointment or diagnostic test can make the difference between early answers and prolonged uncertainty.
Through the Collective Care Program, we help close these gaps by funding screenings and diagnostic procedures, coordinating care through trusted community partners, and supporting people with clear and compassionate navigation. This work matters because everyone deserves a fair chance at early detection, and no one should have to face the process alone.
