Longtime Alexandria civic and business leader will begin as Interim Executive Director on August 17

 

The Breast Cancer Collective has appointed Charlotte Hall as Interim Executive Director, effective August 17, 2026.

​

Hall brings decades of experience in organizational leadership, community partnerships, fundraising, public relations, business development, and day-to-day operations. The Board selected her to provide experienced, locally connected leadership during the organization’s transition and search for its next permanent Executive Director.

​

“She’s a legend in Alexandria and shares the passion we have for helping our community,” said Dr. Weintritt, President of the Breast Cancer Collective Board of Directors. “Her leadership will bolster the success of our fall events, deepen connections within the Alexandria business community, and give us the time we need to identify our next permanent director.”

Hall served as Executive Director of the Old Town Business Association from 2019 through 2024. In that role, she led an organization representing 189 members and served as a liaison between the City of Alexandria and the Old Town small-business community. Her responsibilities included fundraising, advocacy, special events, and relationship-building across Alexandria’s business community.

​

Earlier in her career, Hall spent more than two decades with Potomac Riverboat Company, including as Vice President. She oversaw day-to-day operations, sales, marketing, special events, and new business development as the company grew from one boat to 12.

​

Hall has also held civic and nonprofit leadership roles with organizations including the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, Alexandria Waterfront Commission, Visit Alexandria, Carpenters Shelter, First Night Alexandria, Old Town Business Association, and other community organizations.

“I was drawn to the Breast Cancer Collective because I have watched the organization evolve over the past decade, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside its dedicated volunteers,” Hall said. “Together, we can strengthen and sustain the organization, build new partnerships across the community, and expand access to screening, diagnostic care, and follow-up treatment for people throughout Alexandria and the DMV.”

“As Interim Executive Director, I hope to draw on my experience serving on community boards, ask thoughtful questions, stir the pot in a good way, and make practical improvements that help the organization continue to grow,” Hall added.

During her interim tenure, Hall will work with the Board, staff, volunteers, community partners, and supporters to maintain organizational momentum, strengthen local relationships, support upcoming events, and advance the Breast Cancer Collective’s mission.
